|
This talk will address the problem of the relationship between grammar approaches to prosody and large data bases of spontaneous speech. Of course, naturally occurring data present to the observation multiple sources of information mixed together so that they may be hidden at first sight. However, phonological (grammatical) units are recoverable in spontaneous speech. But we need to separate several phenomenon such as disfluencies and/or continuous/categorical dimension in the prosodic study. Moreover, it is crucial to analyze the different protagonists of talk-in-interaction to take into account the role of prosodic cues in the turn-taking system.
